Peter Kelly got it right, this time!  We read, in the Chronicle Herald, that Mayor Kelly took the car keys from a Councillor who'd had a bit too much to drink.  It became public knowledge, anonymously, of course.  And, apparently, this public knowledge has been frowned upon by several members of council.

Well, I for one want to congratulate Mayor Kelly on his wisdom.  It doesn't matter who you are, if you're drinking - you're a hazard!  The fact that the public became aware of this matter is a good thing, as well.  We need to know that our Municipal representatives are behaving responsibly.  No one needs to know the name of the person whose keys were taken - that's beside the point and could be disastrous for him or her.  What we DO need to  know is that drinking and driving is dangerous and not acceptable by anyone, regardless of whether it's a private citizen or a public figure.
